My travel journey began back in the late 80s as a teenager on my very first trip to Ibiza. Travel back then felt so different! You went into a high-street shop and picked hotels straight from glossy paper brochures. Your physical flight tickets and luggage tags arrived at your house in a paper envelope, and you bought your travel insurance from a machine outside Boots at the airport for £10!
On the transfer bus, the travel rep sat at the front calling out all the exciting trips you could go on. Once at the resort, we were presented with exotic dishes like Paella, Calamari, and Tzatziki, which we eyed with a mix of awe and skepticism! They truly were happy days.
After Ibiza, I properly got the travel bug. The rest of Spain opened up to me, quickly followed by my beloved Greece—I think I’ve been to almost every Greek island ending in an ‘S’ (and yes, there are a lot of them!).
